If Ms. McKay is away...
In the event that Ms. McKay is away (planned or unplanned), here is where you will look for instructions on what you should be working on during class. In most cases, the TOC will not be familiar with course materials so you will have to rely on this page, the course website, and your peers.
It is always my expectation that you are all working quietly and independently on the work outlined on this page.
There is likely no excuse to be out of your seat, socializing with your neighbour, using your cell phone, or surfing the net aimlessly. In other words, you are to be working and making progress on your current assignments.
Remember to keep working!

- Option 1: HTML
- Beginners:
- Continue working on your profile assignment that incorporates the basic HTML we working on last week.
Link: http://lam-ictx.weebly.com/ass1-profile.html - If you have problems, be sure to checkout some of the alternative resources I provided
- When you finish and push your portfolio assignment, you can go on to the next section under the "Beginners HTML" tab of the course websiste where I challenge you to learn some new HTML on your own, or you can go to the “HTML-Non Beginners” tab and begin to work on the CSS introductory lessons. Once you have finished the lessons for the lounge and the journal, try out some of the css to improve the overall look of your portfolio page.

- Non-Beginners:
- By now you should have finished and posted your review site.
- Go to the HTML Non-Beginners tab on the course website and start working through the tabs at your own pace. Remember: each assignment should be represented as a separate folder in your main portfolio site.
- To keep our organization effective, I would suggest you create a folder in your portfolio site called “CSS Introdcution”. This will be similar to what you did for the review project. Within this folder, you will then upload the actual lesson folders you will be working on.
- I would llke you to begin to work on the CSS introductory lessons.
- When you download the activity files to work on, be sure to put them upload the folder into your Cloud 9 “CSS Introdution” folder that you created within your portfolio site (just like we did for review)
- Once you have finished the lessons for the lounge and the journal, try out some of the css to improve the overall look of your portfolio page and review page. Do not go onto “CSS Images” until you have applied what you learned in the intro lessons to your already existing pages.
- Refer to the website htmldog.com or w3c schools for assistance with tags they may have forgotten or are unfamiliar with. In addition, check out the site if you need clarification of something in a lesson
