Career Fair Exploration
Guidelines
Sample Questions to include in your reflection:
- Visit the booths that showcase the careers and post-secondary institutions you are interested in.
- Remember to be polite and respectful at all times. Watch your language and ask real questions — no goofy or offensive questions.
- Take notes of things that you discover
- Ask for a business card or brochure only for the careers and institutions you are actually interested in. This is not a race for free stuff
- Most of all: Learn as much as you can about your future opportunities. Use your full time... this could be life changing.
Sample Questions to include in your reflection:
- After visiting this career fair did you get a better sense of what career or post-secondary program you want to attend? Why or why not?
- Are there certain areas that your parents want you to study or follow into a career? What areas? Do these areas appeal to you? Why or why not? What information did you see/receive about these areas from the Career Fair
- What career areas did you see at the Fair that you haven’t considered before? Do these areas appeal to you now? Explain.
- Are there any careers missing that you would have liked to have learned about? What was your favourite career/post-secondary booth?
- Do you have any other general feedback that would be beneficial to next year’s planning of the Career Fair
Creative Schools Presentation
- Overview of the presentation mentioning what you learned, found helpful, or otherwise interesting
- List any questions you have about the institution and its programs
- List any questions the presentation raised about a particular field
- For top marks, go on line and research the school and provide a detailed analysis of programs offered and associated costs. Make an assessment of whether or not you would attend the school and provide the reasoning behind your choice.
