Review Assignment - Let's See what you remember
In this assignment you are to create a webpage using the HTML tags that you have already learned in previous courses or have discovered on your own. Your webpage can be about anything. Examples include: an all about you page, favorite band, favorite team, favorite athlete, favorite entertainer, a friend, hobby, interest, or anything else that you can think about. My only request is that the page is school appropriate.
I have laid out below the criteria that you must include; however, you are encouraged and required to go online and look for other tags that were not included in your previous studies.

I have laid out below the criteria that you must include; however, you are encouraged and required to go online and look for other tags that were not included in your previous studies.
Criteria:
- Basic HTML structure (<html>, <head>, <title>, etc.)
- Code is consistent throughout the document: all lowercase letters, code is broken up into new lines and paragraphs
- Use of at least one break tag and one paragraph tag
- Use of at least one horizontal rule
- Use of a variety of heading tags <h1>...<h6>
- Attribute tags used throughout document (i.e. <font face=”Times New Roman” size=”3”, etc.)
- Formatted text throughout: consider including text that is aligned differently, italics, bold, different fonts and sizes. Again, CSS may be helpful in managing this.
- Use of at least 3 hyperlinks
- Use of at least one email link or “mailto” so people can easily email you a message.
- Use of superscript and / or subscript
- Use of multiple images including alternate text
- At least one of your images should link to another page or another site.
- You should include at least one numbered list and / or one bulleted list (Consider nested list)
- Use of at least one entity or special character
- Inclusion of a table (hopefully, not just for data but for design)
Remember that tables serve two purposes:
(1) one to display text and/or numeric information in tabular format showing gridlines and borders
(2) one to assist in organizing a web page where the table lines and borders do not show on the web page. - Use of some sort of formatted background (i.e. color, picture or design)
- Background and text must contrast and be easy to read.
- Use of different colors (i.e. text, background, etc.) - hopefully utilize a colour scheme
- You will also be graded on the overall look and appeal of the web site, information included, and creativity
- Make sure page has a proper title in the title bar
- Place an HTML comment near the top of the HTML code in your home page that includes your name and date. This will not be visible when viewing the web page in a browser, but will be visible when someone looks at your source code.
- Nothing on the page should be underlined, with the exception of links of course
- Extra:
- incorporate sound or video in your site
- inclusion of CSS to style page
- inclusion of image map
- inclusion of iframe
- use of “within page navigation” in either page 1 or page 2. - Organization: Your page should be called “index.html” and all images should be in a separate folder
- The organization, appearance, style, and originality of your web site should be pleasing and professional – make it look very nice! As noted above, CSS should be used to control the appearance of some web pages.
- Your web pages must be properly loaded on a Web Server, and tested to insure that they work correctly. I.e. Do the pages load properly; all icons and pictures display properly; and all links work as they should. You must properly send the URL to the teacher
